Rules

1) Each game is played as 2x2 team game with the following settings:

All other options are the challenging team's choice, including whether the game is to be set as a training game or not.

2) Individual players are randomly allocated team-mates by the umpire. The first-named player in a team will set up the team and post the details in the tournament thread. Players are encouraged to use imagination and humour in deciding their team-name.

3) All games titles should start with the string [CTT]. The actual game title is a matter of personal choice, but imaginative and amusing names will be appreciated.

4) The winning team of each game stays in the tournament.

5) If a team does not win any of two consecutive games, they drop out of the tournament. If a team is not part of a round as per rule (9) it is the last two games you've played that count, not the games of the last two rounds.

6) At the start of each game, each team is awarded 7 points. Points will be deducted for each deadline missed in accordance with rule (7). When a team reaches zero points, they must resign and therefore lose the game. Exceptions for holidays apply as per rule (12).

7) A player that has not completed their turn within 24 hours of it becoming their turn, hasn't accepted an invite within 48 hours, or has not taken their turn within 24 hours of missing a previous deadline loses 1 point for each period for their team.

8) When a new round is started, the umpire send a PM to the challengers for that round. Within 48 hours of that message being sent, the new games must be correctly created or the challenging will incur penalties in accordance with rule (7) until the game is correctly set up. If a challenged player does not have a slot free for the game, or has invites turned off, the challenger will notify them via this thread immediately and the challenged player then has 24 hours to correct the situation or suffer penalties as per rule (7).

9) When a new round is started, the umpire send a PM to the challengers for that round.

8) Before each round is started the referee will randomly assign the games. If there's an odd number of players left for a round, one player is chosen to succeed to the next round without playing a game. When only one player is left, that player is the winner.

10) While any game from the first round is still being played, new players may sign up, though if there is no-one to partner them in a team they may not be able to play and will be added to the substitute's list if they so require. Players may sign up later in the tournament as substitutes. Substitutes can replace players who drop out of the tournament or who are unresponsive during the tournament, allowing the remaining team player to continue to participate. Substitutes will be allocated in the order that they signed up.

11) (void due to scenario restriction of 4 players) When only three teams remain in the tournament they play two games of three teams. The team who invites is chosen randomly by the umpire but the same team cannot invite twice in a row. If a team wins both of these games, they are the winner of the tournament. If two different teams win these two games, the third team is out of the tournament and a final and decisive game is played. The challenger is chosen randomly by the umpire.

12) Each team will be allocated 28 days holiday at the start of the tournament. Either team member may use these to cover periods of unavailability. Such periods must be declared in advance. For the duration of a declared holiday, rule (7) is suspended for that player (but not their team-mate unless they have also declared a holiday).
